It could be a little challenging to go through if you're converting to outlook 365 from an earlier version or if you're using it for the first time, particularly when you're adding an email that needs a manual setup. Although Microsoft made the user interface very intuitive, this step-by-step tutorial will still be helpful.

The first time you install and use Outlook, you'll be prompted to provide an email address. You cannot send or receive any email if you don't have an email account.

OUTLOOK FOR Windows Computer

Once you've added your first account, it could be more difficult to recall how to create more.

If the account is simple (like Gmail), Outlook often handles it automatically. It's frequently quicker to choose to manually set up an IMAP or Microsoft Exchange account.

Choose the sort of account you're putting up if you need to manually setup it. The most popular choices are POP, IMAP, Microsoft Exchange, and Microsoft 365.

To add a POP or IMAP email account in Outlook for Windows, use advanced setup.

Use Outlook's advanced configuration option if you need to input precise values for incoming and outgoing server names, port numbers, or SSL settings. These steps may be used to add a POP or IMAP account to Outlook.

Go to File > Add Account in Outlook.
Enter your email address, choose Advanced settings, check the box next to Let me set up my account manually, and then choose Connect on the next page.
Choose the account type. When you need to use this option, you'll typically choose IMAP.
Most of the account settings you need should already be on the Account settings page. However, the POP and IMAP account settings subject is where you should check for your preferences. Select Next after entering your incoming and outgoing server settings.
After entering your password, click Connect.
To add a third-party MAPI email account to Outlook for Windows, use advanced setup.

Download and set up the MAPI email provider application in accordance with the provider company's recommendations if you're using a third-party MAPI provider.

Go to File > Add Account in Outlook.

Enter your email address, choose Advanced settings, check the box next to Let me set up my account manually, and then choose Connect on the next page.

Choose Other from the Advanced Setup screen.

Select the kind of server to connect to from the list on the Other page.

Note: If you've correctly installed and configured the MAPI provider, just your account type will be shown under the Other option.

Go to Connect.

On your computer, the third-party MAPI provider program should start up.

Follow the guidance provided by the MAPI provider to complete account setup.

To configure the account, adhere to the remaining instructions. You may need to enter the incoming and outgoing email server names, port numbers, and encryption techniques depending on the kind of email account you're creating. All of these specifics are available on the website of your email provider or by contacting technical support. It's possible that your network administrator or IT department may need to provide the information if you want to connect an Exchange server to Outlook. ADDING A GMAIL ACCOUNT TO MAC OUTLOOK:

1. Launch Outlook on your Mac by selecting "Outlook" from the menu bar in the upper-left corner of the display.

2. Select "Preferences" from the drop-down menu that opens.

3. An overlay will appear. Choose "Accounts."

4. A page listing all of your current accounts will open. Select "Add account" by clicking the plus symbol (+) in the bottom-right corner.

5. Type your password and email address in the newly opened box. You could be redirected to the website of your email provider to confirm your want to link the accounts.
